How crazy is this? I haven´t done one of this posts in a long time! Also, I have to say, I missed writing for you… last week was felt like doing videos and I had some sort of writers block and I thought I would stick to videos for a while until my head was clear, in the end, I don´t want to publish a forced post that you probably would´t enjoy. Today Im doing a music post to have a catch up with our musical crushes of the moment. Shall we begin?

As you might now by now, or maybe not, I am so addicted to music. This might be something that a lot of people say, but I simply cannot stop listening to music. My day starts with some uplifting tunes and ends with some more chilled melodies, I even have a playlist to make my creative juices flow while writing and I must confess, I have an instant bliss selection of songs to make me have the right, fun mood to film a video! That being said, I thought it would be cool to share what I´ve been listening to on repeat.

The Cars are a fun, forever cool rock band from the 80s, I can´t recall my first encounter with their music but I am sure it was way back when I was a child. I kind of forgot about them for a long time until I started watching The Carrie Diaries. All of their songs remind me of my high school years and I guess, back in the 80s a lot of high-schoolers listened to them when they felt fed up, happy, bored, in love… isn´t it funny how the topics in lyrics are timeless?

I have built a small playlist with my favourite songs, these songs, I must warn, might make you wish you were in a John Hughes film or even skip school with Ferris and his pals…

Hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I did whilst choosing the songs. Let me know who´s your current music crush too!

Its been a couple of weeks, almost a month since I purchased this lip balm and with so many posts and videos going on, it took me little while to talk to you about it. Good thing is, I am doing it right now! I´ve been using it almost every morning and night, it is the perfect timE for me to let you know what this little buddy has done for my lips. I spotted a Kiehl´s store on my recent trip to Belfast and I immediately popped into the shop to have a nosey, I´ve read & heard so many good things about the brand that bumping into the store was a very exciting thing!

Perhaps this might be a very common product for any Kiehl´s fans out there, I must confess this is the first time I have tried the brand and I thought it would be good to start with something as simple as lip balm. My lips usually begin to get super dry at this time of the year and Im always looking for whatever moisturises them the best so you can imagine I had a lot of expectations on this lip balm before I even tried it.

It´s meant to temporally protect and soothe dry lips and also aims to shield lips from the drying effects of cold weather. In my own experience, it does help as a temporary shield, its ideal to bring it with you anywhere and it works beautifully as a quick fix to dry lips. I wish I knew about this lip balm when I was studying Video Techniques as we had to wander around and film outdoors most of the time. Imagine standing outside, in the countryside with temperatures below zero. Just imagine how my poor lips felt like at the end of the day!

It has a gel-like consistence but as soon as it makes contact with the lips, it melts and it is absorbed smoothly. It has a very natural mango scent and I sensed a little hint of refreshing mint on my lips. I really like how silky my lips look after some of the product has been absorbed and specially love how pampering it is without having a thick formula. I wish it was more than a temporary fix as its flavour, consistence and formula are great! Maybe if I look further into more Kiehl´s lip stuff, I might find a moisturising treatment.

Have you tried this product? Would love to know your opinion and also, let me know which Kiehl´s product I should try next!

Since I started writing many moons ago, I´ve discovered a whole new world of beauty & fashion brands. If you are a follower you are probably already aware of this by now because I am excited to tell you when I try a brand for the first time. Some of the stuff I´ve discovered goes from beauty cult brands to randomly less known ones. Its always fun to do this as most of the time, I´ve found some worthy finds.

I thought it would be appropriate to classify these type of posts as first-timers as I am sure there is still a lot of new brands to for me to try and happily report back at you so we can enjoy the experience together!

In this post, I am happy to tell you about my experience trying the UK brand Sanctuary Spa, which if my research is correct, is an actual spa located in Covent Garden, London. Considering all their years of hands on experience with skin care, I can totally understand why it is some sort of beauty cult classic in the UK and it makes total sense that I´ve read about it everywhere… with all that buzz I had to get me some of that.

I´ve been wanting to try it for a couple of months but somehow I hadn´t until I ran out of my all time favourite face wash and I wanted to swap to a different one because, as I´ve mentioned  before, my face has changed from combination to slightly dry and a bit dull. This was the perfect chance to give a different brand a try and it had to be recommended by someone trustable or a well known source… I must confess, anything skin care that has to touch my face has to be something that I really trust, the whole idea of changing to a new product was kind of scary but it had to be done.

At first I thought I made the wrong choice as it is aimed at normal to combination skins but I really wanted to keep my face free of blemishes so I endeavoured to put it to the test, for a while at least. Its been just over a month since I started using this purifying wash and I can report nothing but good things to say about it. It has vitamin E for a perfect boost of radiance to any skin type, especially the dull skins like mine, it also has cucumber and chamomile which the perfect combo to soothe the skin. Every time I use it my skin feels fresh, super soft and hydrated. There is never any need to freak out trying to apply moisturiser right after I´ve washed it (this started to happen a lot since my skin decided to change) and it definitely does´t feel stretched or to greasy.

I also love its smooth, almost silk like consistency  a very light, liquid formula with a lovely and subtle smell of rose that blends super quickly with the water forming a very light lather. I do have to say, I love a foamy consistency but this one is very efficient, even without a lot of foam.
It´s price makes it even better as it was £9 only and i have been told that they are always included in some great deals around the holiday season.  A great product for all skin types especially combination and those in the need of a radiance boost.

I´ve been on a Body Shop craze lately haven´t I? Let´s be honest, I am a fan of this brand, have a huge crush on their skin care products and I must say I was slightly unhappy with their make up line but this eyeshadow made me reconsider my opinion.

I bought this little pot of gold on my last The Body Shop Haul and I hesitated a bit while I was in the store but the caramel tone & the subtle pearlescent texture made me want to include this in my shopping bag. I love warm, earthy eye shadows, I like the way they make my eyes look & this one is, I dare to say, the perfect caramel hue I´ve seen yet. It has great pigmentation, blends super easy both with fingertips and brush. It is lovely as part of a "natural look" make up and it adds a subtle but flirty shimmer to a more elaborated look. I´ve wore it with and without eye primer and Im happy to report it stays pretty much the same both ways; I noticed it remained intense for hours with my Paul and Joe primer and it faded very slightly when I wore it on its own, it was a very minimal fade and it didn't smudge at all!

I am so happy with it that I´ve been using it as my daily eye shadow and it passed the "party test" as I wore it recently to the wedding that I talked about in a posts. I think its a great shadow to have as a quick fix to any daily make up and it kinda makes me want to try out The Body Shop´s shimmer cube palette. Who knows, maybe next time I visit my local shop I will try more of their make up products!

I wish I was actually going back to school! Yes, it can be annoying & overwhelming sometimes but it was a great time to meet knew people and have fun with them. It hasn´t been a long time since I finished my studies for good and now that I´ve been working on this Back To School series, a bit of nostalgia has arrived too. The student days were awesome!

If you are currently a student and feel a bit down, just remember that everything will pay off and trust me on this one, enjoy every single part of your student days, good or bad, embrace them. Its a one time experience!

I pretty much recreated one of my favourite school outfits, a cute sweatshirt, blue jeans & trainers. Thats how I used to make boring days &  long, tedious classes more bearable. It was also I nice experience to take my old Converse tote & use it again. It´s been with me everywhere!… Uni days, Paris, my 1st time in Ireland… we´ve been through so much together. I feel like I should use it more often, at least to go shopping but it has a lot of sentimental value I would´t like it to wear off even more (the main zipper has broken already). Have you been in this situation before?

Now that I´ve shown you my go-to school outfit, I would love to see yours! You know, that outfit layout that never fails to make you feel comfy, chic and ready to kick some asses (by this I mean get all the projects done & get the best grades you can get… don't get in fights please! lol).

You can post your outfit here or send me a tweet with your picture, all your Back To School outfits will get a shout out on the next Weekly Round Up!

Hope you have a great school year!!

This is perhaps the last glitzy, summery  outfit post of the year. After this, its all going to be coats, oversized scarves and smart layering, which sounds very appealing to me right now but I bet you, I´ll be struggling with the low temperatures, drinking loads of hot tea and complaining from time to time, about how cold it is & how much I miss summer.

As you might remember, I mentioned a couple of times that I have been invited to a wedding. Well, right after receiving the invitation, my mind couldn´t stop thinking about what comes with it; looking for a nice outfit to attend that type of event.

For some reason I left it until the last minute and I underestimated how hard it can be to go out and look for a dress with me, specially when its for a wedding and that wedding happens to be the next day. Imagine going shopping with a slow, indecisive but very stressed person and add the fact that she has a pair of shoes to wear for the day and wants a dress that will go with them. I think we can agree that it can be a bit complicated when you have the perfect pair of shoes and somehow, you decide to look for a dress that will go with the shoes and not the other way… or am I the only girl that has to look for the dress first and then the rest of the stuff?

I thought, as I showed you my dress on the Belfast haul, an outfit post was in order to show you how it all went, and  to proof myself, that a dress from Primark can be good material for a formal event. I say I had to proof myself, because once I became exhausted of searching through so many shops, I sort of found the light in the three floor, fast fashion store and this dress turned out to be great for the occasion!

I wish I could show you more pictures of the reception but as I am not directly familiar with the bride & groom, I felt it was inappropriate as it was such an intimate event. I do have this lovely picture of our table, they were all decorated with this candles, very simple but romantic and with a vintage vibe. The bride was wearing a 1920s style dress with a beautiful veil also inspired on that decade. She was absolutely stunning!
