March Favourites!

Don´t know if you realised but I missed February Favourites, it was a really short month and there was a lot going on, unfortunately there can be loads of things going through my mind and if I don´t write down what I have to do I´ll just forget about it (silly me)... this time I didn´t let it pass!

March is gone, almost, and with its departure all the favourites from it come to mind!
Between our favourites, there is a pair of distressed jeans, a bubble-gum-cute(I hope this term already exists, if not Im calling it mine!) baseball jacket (not just a regular jacket, its a Lagerfeld) and the enigmatic manta clutch. This time each piece was able to connect & build a really chic outfit, sometimes we have three pairs of shoes and 2 different tops but now it seems that our minds were synchronised to pick the ultimate Spring outfit.

Which are your March style finds?

A beauty cult-classic

Sometimes is great to try out new beauty products; a new perfume, maybe a new palette of eye shadows, etc. The excitement of using a new brand is almost as good as when I used make up for the very first time... that is the way I felt when I decided to give my beloved mascara a break and use a different one on my daily routine instead. I must tell you, that after a long search for THE perfect mascara for my not-so-perfect eye lashes I found a best ally on Maybelline´s Great Lash. So why would I swap my long time beauty friend for a fairly recent formula from a completely different brand?

Well, mainly, I did it because I trusted the brand. I am a big fan of their skin care products and I thought "if they are incredibly good with skin care, their make up line should be good too". Unfortunately, the new mascara didn´t meet my expectations.... at all! Super liquid formula, took ages to dry and the brush was too thin... I had lumps on my eyelashes and after a while, I managed to master the quantity and way to apply the mascara.

I needed my old mascara and I needed it quick.... as soon as I got it, I felt like the first time I bought it, excited but relieved at the same time. Although Im always up to trying new things for the blog, I felt like I couldn´t try any other product of that brand´s beauty line. Too much of a drastic choice but maybe, anytime in the future I might reconsider it!

Enough complaining, now lets talk about this beauty cult-classic!... I wouldn´t like to assume that everyone is familiar with it (I still remember staring at older girls talking about cosmetics with no idea about must of the stuff) but it has been out for so long that I bet your mom, sisters or aunts have tried it at least once. What I really love about it is the smooth consistence, not to thick but not to liquid, the intense colour and the time it takes to dry. Not too fast but quick enough to build a little extra length on the lashes or to be ready in a matter of minutes on a busy day.

One lesson I´ve learned in my experience with make up is that quality is more important than quantity or price and this little friend meets this aspects. A great mascara to get next time if you haven´t tried it yet!

Smooth Operator

If I tell you how much I am obsessed with this body butter I would be lying... moisturising my skin is waaay in the bottom of my favourite "to do´s" list. In fact, I why would it be on my favourites or on my to do´s list?! That´s how I feel about it but I know my skin doesn´t feel the same.

And it has anything to do with a brand, texture, colour or scent... my brain just seems to forget about it when Im drying myself after a shower. I´ve tried many times through the years to make a habit out of it but sometimes Im in a rush or maybe it is too cold and I hate the feeling of cold moisturiser and I keep saying to myself a bunch of silly excuses! I moisture my face just because it feels horribly stretched without it.

I can go without moisturiser for days and my skin is perfectly fine during Spring and Summer but when the cold months arrive, the problems arrive too!! My poor skin looks dry, dull and thirsty it just seems to be asking for care on a really sad way and thats when the guilt comes to my mind... this cycle was so repetitive for so many years until I tried The Body Shop body butter. I know it sounds like one of those super quirky infomercials but that´s the story of how me and my skin found the light!

All their body butter smell super nice so natural and delicious that you wish you could ate it ( I just pictured myself eating the tub of butter like a kinder garden child) it has a rich texture but smooth enough and it doesn´t feel sticky when you put on your clothes, have you ever felt that way? I used to dance randomly so my skin will soak all the moisturiser... random, but apart from all those reasons that make body butter more bearable, this one hydrates your skin in such a way that no matter how long it takes for you to moisture again, your skin will be happy (let´s be reasonable, don´t go through life without moisturising at leas once a week...).

Oh! and it last ages too... although with all their colours and flavours scents, finishing the tub has turned into a challenge for me. My goal is to try every single one of them!!
